Drive Out ALS at Drive Shack

The ALS Association North Carolina Chapter will host the 2nd Annual Drive Out ALS at Drive Shack on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. This event will raise funds and awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gherig’s Disease, a fatal neurodegenerative disease that currently has no cure. The evening will include simulated golf tournament play at Drive Shack, a live and silent auction, dinner, great company with NFL Alumni & Friends.
Drive Out ALS will be a very special evening in memory of Chris Combs.
Chris Combs was a standout baseball player at Broughton High School and NC State University, and played professionally for four years for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Chris passed away from ALS in 2020 and left a legacy of tremendous support for ALS research and the ALS community. Chris’ brother Ryan Combs will receive the first annual Chris Combs Courage and Community Award during this event for his dedication and support for Helping To Create A World Without ALS.

Everything we do supports the discovery of effective treatments and a cure for ALS. Funds raised from this event will provide hope and support to 800 families living with ALS in NC each year. Your support helps fund more than 170 research projects in 15 countries, 6 multidisciplinary ALS clinics in NC, a telemedicine clinic at Duke, 9 monthly support groups, more than 5,800 hours of respite care for NC families and so much more.
